Wind enthusiasts around the world are beyond stoked that 2022 welcomes the now-famous Patagonia Maui Kite & Wing Fest back to Hawaiian waters. Not only will it once again be an official RedBull King of the Air Qualifier, granting the winner of the Big Air discipline a coveted wildcard into the legendary Cape Town Showdown. But also, with wing surfing taking the world by storm after being birthed on Maui only a couple of years back by the legend himself Robby Naish, the prestigious event makes a huge comeback proudly welcoming this new discipline on board.

The USA’s Premier Kite & Wing Surfing event, The Patagonia Maui Kite & Wing Fest, is proud to announce that our 2022 edition will feature exciting new disciplines such as the KOTA Qualifier Extreme Big Air, in which both men and women will compete together, US 16 Grom Big Air, Kite Racing, and last but not least, Wing Surfing divisions including Racing and Freestyle. Wing surfing is now part of our Hui (team) in an effort to be even more inclusive, and share the stoke with an ever-growing community of fellow ocean lovers.
