JOIN US on February 5th from 9am-2pm for a day-long celebration with a focus on community health, sustainable- living and culture.
The Haleki’i Market experience, established in the winter of 2020, features local crafts and art vendors, keiki entrepreneurs, fresh food and live music every first Saturday of the month.
Saturday February 5th will feature special initiatives, opportunities for engagement and activities for the whole family. These include:
1. COVID-19 Home Test Distribution in collaboration with the Department of Health
-Keiki O Ka ʻĀina- Family Learning Centers Educate Children, Strengthen Families, Enrich Communities and Perpetuate Culture. We fulfill our mission by communicating the vital importance of education, advocating for literacy, supporting parents as their keiki’s first and best teacher, and empowering families to undertake leadership roles in their communities. All of this is done within the context of Hawaiian language, traditions and values.
2. Monthly KOKUA2GETHER Donation Drive campaign in collaboration with:
Circle Pack Hawaiʻi- shredding station for cardboard recycling into mulch, packing or pet bedding. The County of Hawai'i will give away a produce bundle for every cardboard donation.
The Maʻi Movement- donation drive of menstruation hygiene products to end period poverty. Hi
Kona Lions Club- donation drive of used prescription glasses/ hearing aids.
3.For entertainment, Haleki'i welcomes recording artist GRAYDEN H. KELLY with a live acoustic musical concert; Free ZUMBA demonstration and class with Randal's Dance Fitness, and newly released ‘Storm of Passion’ Author Rebecca A. Corio will be hosting a meet-&-greet book signing.
