Kā'anapali Beach Hotel is proud to host its 29th annual Hula O Nā Keiki – Maui’s only children’s solo hula competition. This year’s event will be held November 8-9, 2019 in the Kanahele ballroom.
Children ages 5 to 17 compete in kahiko (traditional) and ʻauana (modern) style hula, as well as oli (chant) and costume. The competition encourages its young participants to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the art of hula and its roots in Hawaiian culture. Kā'anapali Beach Hotel is dedicated to supporting, honoring and perpetuating Hawaiian traditions and culture among today’s youth and for future generations. The weekend event includes local Maui arts and crafts, live Hawaiian entertainment, and features a Pop-Up Showcase and Sale by well-known Hawaiian designer Manaola.
