A new exhibition by Robert Gann opens April 1 at Whole Foods, Kahului, Hawaii Store. The exhibition features 12 mixed media paintings that will be on display until 30 June.

In the exhibition ‘Inside-Outsider’, Robert Gann connects the dots from inside the art gallery world to the sentiments of an outsider looking in.

He has created a new category of painting “independent layering”, a new approach to sculptural painting. This exhibition is a treat to the senses and it’s hard not to touch the paintings.

Gann is an artist based in Pukalani, Maui, HI. A self-taught artist and member of the Lahaina Art Society.
He says that during the creation of these paintings intuition and good accidents became the main driver. His new technique of “independent layering” truly is new.

One landscape in this exhibition provides a great view of this new technique. As one comes closer the layers catch the eye and keep drawing you in. The closer you get the deeper you go.

Robert Gann’s ‘Inside-Outsider’ art exhibition will surprise and welcome visitors and customers to Whole Foods this spring.
