HONOR A LOVED ONE THIS MAY

There’s a lot to celebrate in May – mothers, graduates and veterans who lost their lives in military service. There’s no better way to honor our moms who give so much, the class of 2019, or those who defend our country than donating blood.

In just one hour, your blood donation will save three lives of Hawaii patients who will need a blood transfusion – for surgery, organ transplants, accident victims and cancer care.

Listed below are the upcoming blood drives on Hawaii Island this May. Please note: drives are subject to change. To schedule an appointment or check on drive information, call 848-4770 or visit BBH.org.

The general requirements to be a blood donor are simple:
Be in good health
Be 18 years of age or older (16-17 year old donors with signed Blood Bank of Hawaii parent/legal guardian consent)
Weigh 110 pounds or more (Additional height/weight requirements apply for female donors 16-18 years old)
Bring photo ID with date of birth
